About the Pipeline Information Management Mapping Application (PIMMA)

The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) has developed the Pipeline Information Management Mapping Application (PIMMA) for use by pipeline operators and federal, tribal, state, and local government officials. You must have an NPMS account to access PIMMA. PIMMA allows you to view, query and print NPMS pipeline maps, including hazardous liquid and gas transmission pipelines, liquefied natural gas (LNG) plants and breakout tanks. PIMMA is for reference purposes only; data cannot be downloaded from PIMMA. If you would like to request NPMS GIS data layers for use in your own mapping system, please submit a Data Request.

An iPhone app for PIMMA is also available. To download it, from your iPhone search for "pipeline information" on the App Store. All rules associated with the PIMMA desktop version and your NPMS account also apply to the PIMMA iPhone app.

Sharing NPMS accounts between individuals is expressly prohibited by multifactor authentication (MFA) protocols and in the NPMS Access Policy. A government or pipeline operator contractor (e.g., consultant, subcontractor) cannot request an NPMS account. However, a current NPMS account holder may sponsor an NPMS contractor account for their contractor's use. Terms and sponsor forms are available here. Otherwise, if another person expresses interest in using PIMMA, please have them apply for an NPMS Account. PHMSA monitors user activity and reserves the right to remove individual access rights.

The general public and private companies may not access PIMMA; please utilize the NPMS Public Map Viewer instead.
