About the Pipeline Information Management Mapping Application (PIMMA)
The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) has developed the Pipeline Information Management Mapping Application (PIMMA) for use by
pipeline operators and federal, tribal, state, and local government officials only. The application contains hazardous liquid and gas transmission pipelines,
Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plants and breakout tank data. PIMMA data is for reference purposes only; data cannot be downloaded from PIMMA.
If you would like to request GIS data layers for use in your own mapping system,
please submit a Data Request.
An iPhone app for PIMMA is also available. To download it, from your iPhone search for “pipeline information” on the App Store. You will need your PIMMA username and password to use the app. All rules associated with the PIMMA desktop version also apply to the PIMMA iPhone app. The app is not compatible with Android or Blackberry devices.
PIMMA is intended to be used solely by the person who is given access by PHMSA.
Your username and password should not be shared with other persons either within or outside of your organization.
However, if you have a consultant/subcontractor working on your behalf, you may opt to share your PIMMA account with your consultant provided you have a confidentially agreement with the consultant in place that states that the login will only be used for the purposes of the project and will not be redistributed.
Otherwise, if another person expresses interest in using PIMMA, please have them submit an application.
PHMSA monitors user activity and reserves the right to remove individual access rights.
Access to PIMMA is limited to federal, tribal, state, and local government officials as well as pipeline operators. PIMMA access cannot be given to any person who is not a direct official/employee of a government agency or a pipeline operator. All applications will be processed by PHMSA personnel, who will respond as soon as possible. The general public and private companies may not access PIMMA;
please utilize the NPMS Public Map Viewer instead.
If you have a PIMMA account but have forgotten your username or password, please visit the Forgot PIMMA Login tool for assistance.
